Adams Foods opens innovation centre

UK dairy supplier Adams Foods has launched a new innovation centre at its headquarters in Leek. The £3m (€3.5m) investment that has seen the extension of its current site, new equipment and the creation of 20 new local jobs within the business. Both retail and foodservice customers will now be able to work even more closely with the Adams team, running through a 360 degree process that starts with consumer insight and includes work in the taste lab and development kitchen, creating a bespoke range for each account, the company says.

Alastair Jackson, marketing director for Adams Foods, notes, “The new innovation centre will enable us to build on our current blended cheese business and start tapping into some growth areas of the market, such as snacking for both adults and kids. These areas represent an opportunity within the cheese category and are a significant step forward in developing how that category is represented within all grocery channels.

Adams Foods is the parent company behind Pilgrims Choice, Kerrygold and MU brands.
