1000 Days Landana wins gold at cheese awards

Landana, a premium specialty cheese brand of Vandersterre Groep (The Netherlands), has been recognized with a gold award at the World Cheese Awards in Birmingham, England. In the “Gouda made before 1/12/2012” category, Landana 1000 Days was said to have a full, intense but very refined taste. Landana 1000 Days is part of the Landana premium quality cheese range. This cheese naturally ripens for at least 1000 days, and the fine mineral and protein crystals are visible signs of its maturation, the cheese maker says. Vandersterre Groep also won a bronze award with Landana Goat cheese Aged in the hard goats’ milk category. The extra-long ripened Prima Donna forte also won bronze in the any very hard cheese categiry with its strong and sweet, nutty taste.
2,777 cheeses participated at the cheese show, which is organized by UK’s Guild of Fine Food.
