Clover SA and Nkunzi Milkway to merge

A merger between Clover South Africa and the fresh dairy business Nkunzi Milkway was approved on 23 April.

The merger had previously been prohibited by the Commission due to competition issues and public interest concerns, such as the impact such a transaction would have on small farmers and employment in the area.

The merger has now been approved with conditions agreed between the Commission and parties involved, following an appeal to the Tribunal by the merging parties.
