Arla Foods triumphs at the Global Cheese Show

Arla Foods creameries walked away with 83 awards at this year’s Global Cheese Awards in Frome, UK, exceeding last year’s 52.
Competing against cheeses from around the world, Arla won the Danisco Grand Prix trophy for a second year for its Taw Valley creamery. Awarded on a points based basis following the culmination of the summer season, including a series of shows such as the International Cheese Awards at Nantwich and the Great Yorkshire Show, the trophy was presented in recognition for Arla being the most consistent maker of mature cheddar.
The 83 awards included ten trophies, 23 gold awards, 25 silver awards, 21 bronze awards and one highly commended award, surpassing the success of 2015.
Sarah Baldwin, vice president, of Arla UK, says, “This year has already been a great year for us with a successful award season for our products, so to have received more accolades at the recent Global Cheese Awards is fantastic. We’re especially thrilled that Taw Valley creamery took home the 2015 Danisco Grand Prix Trophy, for the second time, it’s a real testament to the quality of the creamery’s produce. The triumph this year is a fitting reward for the hard work and expertise our creameries display every year.”
