GERMANY – A national survey on the way cheese was consumed in 2004 indicates that the plain old cheese sandwich remains popular.

Usually eaten in rolls, cheese as a sandwich constituted a regular part of cold snacks in Germany for 83% of consumers questioned for Centrale Marketing-Gesellschaft (CMA) and Zentrale Markt und Preisberichtstelle (ZMP).
