UK – Dairy Crest has won a contract to double the amount of cheese it supplies to Walmart-owned Asda supermarket chain.

The 30,000 tonne a year deal is to supply Asda with own label Cheddar and British cheeses. The contract, which will be put in to place later this year, is for cheese produced at Dairy Crest’s Aspatria dairy in Cumbria. It will be packed at Maelor in Wales.
