AUSTRALIA – The International Dairy Federation (IDF) has wrapped up its Melbourne summit in Australia by saying that it must take the positive message on milk and milk products to the world’s consumers and policy makers.

Speaking event new IDF president Jim Begg said: “We have to adopt a pro-active stance. The IDF is ideally placed to communicate a global message based on its vast resource of information on dairy science and nutrition.” In total there were 780 participants at the conference from 44 countries.

At the conference, the USA took this year’s International Milk Promotions (IMP) trophy for its New Look of School Milk campaign, which has driven increased consumption of milk in schools.
