Cheese veteran Tim Rowcliffe has been awarded the annual British Cheese Board Cheese Industry Award 2017 at the Royal Bath and West Show. The award was presented at the show by food and drink broadcaster Nigel Barden.

Barden says, “Tim has been in the business for 40 years. His father’s dream was to make speciality British and continental cheese available from every high street in the country – and Tim has been instrumental in making this a reality.

“Tim has introduced numerous cheeses to the UK which we take for granted today. He has established strong relationships with cheese makers, championing the farmhouse producers and supporting them through thick and thin.”

Rowcliffe adds, “This year Anthony Rowcliffe & Son is celebrating its 50th year in business and winning this award is a very proud moment for both myself and the company. The cheese industry has always been a big part of my life, and it is an honour to be recognised by my peers.”
