Givaudan to buy Vika

Givaudan, a global fragrance and flavour company, plans to purchase Vika, a food and beverage industrial supplier of both natural dairy ingredients and meat and plant extracts.
CEO of Givaudan, Gilles Andrier, says that Vika “will strengthen [Givaudan’s] existing capabilities” and “accelerate [their] position with existing and new customers.”
Though based in the Netherlands, Vika employs around 200 employees across the UK, Belgium and New Zealand. In comparison, Givaudan is Swiss-based and employs 10,000 staff across over 95 locations.
Givaudan’s acquisition of Vika aims to strengthen the former’s products using “all-natural” savoury and dairy produce, as customers have prioritised natural ingredients. Vika’s sale is due to occur towards the end of 2017, funded by a payment of around €64 million from Givaudan’s existing resources. – Seye Alaran
