India to be top producer by 2020, says report

A recent report from Edelweiss Securities says India’s dairy industry will maintain 15% compounded annual growth through 2020, and is now a primary milk producer with 160 million tonnes, accounting for 18.5% of global milk production.

It will surpass the European Union by 2020 with a yearly production growth of 4.2%, which will bring it to 185 million tonnes, the Economic Times of India reported.
