Emmi of Switzerland has nominated Niklaus Meier and Diana Strebel (pictured) as new members of the company’s board. They are nominated as successors to Hanspeter Muller and Dominique Christian Bach. Muller (68), a member of Emmi’s board of directors since 1999, and Bach, who joined the board in 2010, are no longer available for re-election. Muller sat on the controlling committee from 2003 to 2012. Over the past two years, Bach has acted as chairman of the market committee.

Meier, a Swiss certified expert in accounting and controlling, has over 20 years’ experience of these two fields and has held positions with international groups such as Ciba and MEGlobal. He was also active in the MIBA Milchverband der Nordwestschweiz for 16 years. Since 2011, he has been CFO at MEGlobal FZE, which is active in the plastics sector and has its headquarters in Dubai.

With a degree in economics (HSG/Master of Science in Marketing GSBA & University of Wales), Strebel, an established expert on brands with many years’ leadership experience, is an excellent candidate for the board, according to Emmi. Over the past 30 years she has supported a number of companies, including big names in the food industry (such as Unilever, Nestle and Toni Milchverband) on their brand launches. With her expertise and her considerable experience at the international level, she can help strengthen Emmi’s brand portfolio, also against a backdrop of a further international expansion. Strebel is CEO of maxi-max.ag, a consulting company specializing in brand, communication and agency management, and lives in the canton of Zurich.

The general meeting of Emmi will take place in Lucerne on 3 May 2012.
