FINLAND – Valio has appointed a Harry Salonaho as its new chief executive after Olavi Kuusela walked out in June.

Salonaho currently runs a food, packaging and paper consultancy in Germany and before that held a number of senior roles with packaging giant Tetra Pak.

Salonaho will take up his new post from 1 January 2004. Until then, administration vice president Heikki Halkilahti will continue as acting chief executive.
