Finland/USA – Valio Emmental cheeses are the leading imported cheeses in the USA, overtaking Emmental producers such as Norway, Germany, Switzerland and Denmark.

Valio started exporting the cheese in 1958, before taking over the import side as well in 1991 when it set up subsidiary Finlandia Cheese.
