UK farming group Farmers For Action (FFA) is threatening to protest at UK dairy processing sites if the milk price does not increase at the next quarterly review in July.
Speaking to Dairy Industries International FFA chairman David Handley said: “Unless there is a dramatic upturn in the milk price there will be farmers outside processors, supermarkets and co-op offices. At the moment farmers are like baying wolves.” He added that the only justifiable reason for milk prices to continue to fall would be a further collapse in dairy commodity prices. Handley criticised UK processors and milk co-ops for not keeping farmers informed about milk price issues.
