Alois Muller source new warehousing solution
Fresh palletised yogurts, desserts and other dairy products are briefly stored by the Alois Müller dairy, before they head for retail and ultimately for the refrigerated shelves. Stock requirements also exist for fruits, cereals and packaging materials. All of this must be available at all times to ensure regular production and logistics processes. Accordingly, warehousing is an important criterion.
Against the backdrop of the seven companies belonging to the location and the steadily growing production volumes of the Alois Müller GmbH & Co.KG dairy, the capacities of the high-bay warehouse at the Aretsried location had long been exhausted, so the finished goods have had to be send to external warehouses.
So now the project of a new high-bay warehouse has started on the grounds of the dairy in Aretsried. Commissioning is planned for the first half of 2020.
The new investment of around € 42 million is a pure storage building with the latest state of the art partially driverless transport systems.
Overall, the warehouse will have room for 21,000 pallets in refrigerated and uncooled areas.
Important for the surrounding area: The new high-bay warehouse on the factory site will replace three external warehouses, but there will be no significant change in the traffic situation, as the loading area will be just as easy to access.
The new warehouse, 78 meters long, 57 meters wide and 40 meters high, is being built on an area south of the existing site.
