Berglandmilch sustains

The largest Austrian dairy group Berglandmilch has been a klima:aktiv partner since autumn 2014. Various projects in the field of energy efficiency and sustainability have been awarded and this year, for the fifth time, the certificate “Award for commitment in climate protection” was awarded to Berglandmilch by federal minister for tourism and sustainability, Elisabeth Köstinger.

Economical use of resources and an efficient mode of production are just two of the topics that have been practiced sustainably at Berglandmilch for years. For example, only green electricity from hydropower has been used since 2013.

General manager Josef Braunshofer is pleased about the recognition and also refers to the freshly printed sustainability report of Berglandmilch, saying,

“In this report we discuss in detail the various projects that we promote in the field of sustainability. These include the recyclability of packaging materials, optimisation in water consumption, efficient logistics from the farmer to the shelf and much more.”
