UK – Milk processor Express Dairies is reported to be in takeover talks with UK dairy processor Robert Wiseman.

Express is widely seen as a prime target for takeover, and abandoned talks with Scandinavian dairy co-op Arla earlier in March.

The news comes in the week that Express issued a statement claiming that the company expects its results for the year to 31 March to be on target.

When the company announced its interim results last November, it predicted that it would benefit from reorganisation and cost reductions. However, it admitted that trading conditions would remain difficult.
