USA – Soup firm Campbell has this week recalled one day’s production of its tomato soup because it may contain undeclared milk or soy proteins.

The mix-up could have drastic effects if people with an allergy to milk or soy proteins consume the soup. The recall involves 237,504 cans of the company’s Ready to Serve Classic Tomato Soup, sold in 553ml cans.

The problem was found when customers complained about the product. Campbell then discovered that cans has been labelled wrongly and actually contained a different soup.

The cans are identified by a code stamped on the bottom, reading NOV2002 11211 CT KSYT.
