American Dairy Science Association (ADSA)seeks executive director

The American Dairy Science Association (ADSA), located in Champaign, Illinois US, is seeking an executive director. Known as the “voice of science” for the global dairy industry, ADSA and its Foundation is devoted to finding the most efficient, productive, and prosperous supply of dairy products to feed the people of the world.
Created in 1906 with 19 charter members, ADSA today serves 3,000 student, professional, and corporate members in 60 countries, who are connected by the mission to advance and disseminate science to improve the dairy industry. ADSA’s members are academics, scientists, students, and industry representatives from the dairy foods and dairy production sectors.
The ADSA Board of Directors seeks an executive director who will manage research, education, and knowledge-sharing programs and services that advance the vision, mission, and values of ADSA and its Foundation. Operating in a highly collegial and inclusive environment, the executive director will report to the ADSA board of directors in co-ordination with the ADSA president.
Ideal candidates will have at least five years of association or related business management experience, with a deep appreciation for the dairy industry and science-based solutions for economic, environmental, and social challenges.
A successful record of working with a volunteer board of directors and sound financial management are required. A strategic, member-centric, and collaborative leadership style is important. A bachelor’s degree is required; an advanced degree, particularly in science, is desirable. Leadership experience in a scientific organisation and proven ability to manage headquarters office operations are desirable.
