Tom Soya turns to Tetra Pak Processing
UK – Tom Soya has built a new liquid food processing plant in Deeside, Flintshire, to meet the demand for its Tom Soya product range. The site will also provide a co-packaging facility for aseptic products in portion packs.
Tetra Pak Processing has supplied three filling machines to the plant. The first is a Tetra Classic TCA/25 for tetrahedron-shaped jigger packs, sized 12 to 20ml. The second machine is a Tetra Brik Aseptic TBA/19, designed to fill 250ml cartons, while the final machine is a TBA/9 for filling 125ml cartons. The latter includes a straw applicator to enhance the pack’s appeal to children.
Tetra Pak has also installed a 2,000 litre per hour Tetra Therm Aseptic Flex module for UHT treatment of liquid food, and an aseptic pilot plant for researching and testing new products.
