Milk aimed at the lactose intolerant
Omira Group, reputed to be one of south Germany’s most innovative dairy processors, has introduced Minus L, a new UHT milk designed specifically for lactose intolerant consumers.
The dairy uses a natural enzyme treatment, which changes the lactose into glucose and galactose and reduces lactose content from the standard 4.5% to just 0.1g per 100g.
The new product is also low in fat (1.5%) to appeal to its target customers, many of whom must have low levels of fat in their milk. It is available in one litre cartons and carries a retail price of around 1.30 Euros
