US-based dairy ingredients firm Leprino Foods has opened a site in Singapore for customers in Asia-Pacific. Leprino says the business centre will include an innovation studio, where it will look to develop products and form marketing strategies to “help customers profitably increase sales”.

Kevin Burke, Leprino’s senior vice president for global business development, says: “The Asia-Pacific market has been a key strategic focus for us, full of challenge and opportunity. We’re deeply committed to helping our customers in the region win in the marketplace, and we’re proud to be opening this business centre in Singapore. Our investment in Asia will continue and increase over time, as we are committed for the long term.”

The company says it is North America’s largest producer of mozzarella cheese and supplies the foodservice sector. International sales have more than doubled in the last two years for Leprino, with Asia-Pacific playing a “significant role” in the company’s expansion outside the US.

The company has ten production sites in the US and two in the UK via a venture with Irish food group Glanbia.
