Vorarlberg Milch wins gold for sustainability
Austrian dairy Vorarlberg Milch is the first dairy in the world to be awarded the DGNB (German Sustainable Building Council) gold certificate by the Austrian Society for Sustainable Real Estate Management (ÖGNI).
The DGNB certification system focuses on the entire life cycle of a building.
The various aspects of sustainability are assessed, from planning to construction and operation. Resource conservation, value retention and user comfort are essential components when planning, building and operating the property.
“The DGNB system represents a holistic view of economy, ecology, socio-cultural aspects as well as technology, process and location. All of these criteria were met in an exemplary manner in the Vorarlberg Milch generation project in Feldkirch,” explained ÖGNI managing director Peter Engert.
