Nestlé in talks for Movenpick supplier

SWITZERLAND – Food giant Nestle is in takeover talks with ice cream supplier Schoeller. Nestle wants the business – which distributes Movenpick branded products in Northern and Central Europe ‚ to shore up its position as the world’s second largest ice cream manufacturer.

Schoeller’s owner, meanwhile, wishes to dispose of the 1.4 billion euro a year business to focus on its core activities in the sugar and sweeteners sector.
