MIV to explore market reality and consumers at March Milk Forum

The pandemic has shown how systemically important the dairy industry is, states the German Dairy Industry Association (MIV). It is gearing up to greet attendees at its virtual Berlin Milk Forum from 4-5 March. Consumers turned to milk during the pandemic, and the issues of sustainability, animal welfare, ethics and the achievement of the set climate targets have also picked up speed. Innovation, communication and perspectives are required in order to contribute to consumer education, according to the MIV.

The increasing fundamental challenges and additional requirements of society and trade for the production and processing of milk have to be mastered. The “Image of milk – what can the industry do better?” will be discussed prominently on the first day of the MIV event this year.

Representatives from business, politics, agriculture and trade will discuss the topic “Milk and Co: Who sets the rules?” on the second day of the Milk Forum in a panel discussion. The topics of the market, prospects, organic development and communication will also be examined.

The virtual event is organised by the German Farmers’ Association and the Dairy Industry Association in cooperation with the German Raiffeisen Association and the German Agricultural Society. All the virtual discussion will be under the motto, “Dairy industry between market reality and consumer wishes.”
