Hay milk sales up for Austria
Sales of hay milk products in Austria rose last year by 9% to around €154.8 million, while sales of organic hay milk grew by as much as 18%. Germany has been the most important export market for Austrian hay milk and hay milk products for years.
In order to be able to market the milk even more successfully, cooperation with German producers began in 2019. The development of the amount of hay milk is therefore also positive in Germany: in 2020 these co-operative companies processed around 65 million kilograms of hay milk.
In order to further increase awareness, ARGE Heumilch will start a comprehensive information campaign in Germany in 2021.
“With our first print campaign last year, we succeeded in attracting increased attention on the German market. This year, German consumers are to be informed more about the benefits of hay milk for the environment and biodiversity,” says Christiane Mösl, who is managing director of ARGE Heumilch in Innsbruck.
