Hansson tapped to run Arla Germany

Patrik Hansson (53) will be the new German head of the European dairy cooperative Arla Foods as of 1 June. He is currently the head of Arla Foods in Sweden.

As managing director and group vice president he will then be responsible for Arla Foods’ entire business in Germany. He reports to Arla Europe board member Peter Giørtz-Carlsen.

Hansson has been with Arla Foods since 2011 and was initially responsible for the cheese, butter and fruit drinks business at Arla Sweden. In 2015, he was named head of Arla’s Southeast Asia (SEA) business, which he made one of Arla’s fastest growing regions worldwide. At the end of 2016 he returned to Arla Sweden as group vice president and general manager.

Prior to joining Arla, Hansson had almost 20 years of experience in marketing, sales and finance in international companies in the FMCG industry; 13 years of which were at Procter & Gamble in various marketing and management positions in Sweden and Switzerland and three years as managing director of the Swedish cosmetics company Hartford.

Hansson’s successor as head of Arla Sweden will be Kai Gyllström, who is currently still in charge of Arla’s business in Finland.
