OMA opts for recyclable packaging

The packaging that Germany’s Ökologischen Molkereien Allgäu (ÖMA) has developed for its range of cheese slices now consists of 72% paper and is completely recyclable.

With a view to the goal of ‘Best organic – better packaged’ this packaging solution for cheese slices for the self-service area and prepacked counters has been worked on for a year together with its packaging partner Albert Herz. It is primarily about the disposal process, which take place after cheese has been consumed.

The result is that the packaging consists of a foil-wrapped paper tray on which the cheese slices are placed and then sealed with an upper film. After consumption, the film and paper can be easily separated from each other and can be added to the recycling.
