Guerin named at Parmalat
Yvon Guerin, general manager of France-based Lactalis’ milk, dairy and nutrition division, has been named as CEO of Italian dairy giant Parmalat. Guerin has been with Lactalis for over 20 years and replaces Enrico Bondi, who had been head of Parmalat since 2003. Lactalis now owns an 83.3% stake in Parmalat, having paid EUR3.38 billion for it in June.
Guerin has experience with mergers, having been involved with the integration of Spanish company Puleva into the Lactalis Group in 2010. Lactalis is now the third biggest dairy company globally, with a turnover of EUR3.3 billion. Parmalat was the 12th largest.
