Allgaü Milch Käse has it wrapped up

With the motto, “We show what we are made of,” the Allgäu Milch Käse dairy of Kimratshofen in Germany has re-wrapped its buildings to show the inner workings of the plant. The gigantic dimensions of the new foiling can be seen at the entrance to the village, and the areas of mountain cheese and quark production are shown in their original size on the outside of the building. The foiling extends over 350 square metres.

“From the outside, the consumer sees, what is happening inside,” says managing director Hubert Dennenmoser.

The idea is that arriving in front of the facade, every spectator feels for a brief moment as if he/she is standing in the middle of production. The dimensions of the ultra-modern mountain cheese warehouse, which is hidden inside, can be imagined.

Allgäu Milch Käse processes 410 million kg of milk per year, into 20,500 tonnes of cheese, 10,000 tonnes of butter and 19,000 tonnes of quark, which are sold under the names Allmikäs, Allgäuer Butter and other trademarks.
