Butlers Farmhouse Cheeses’ Best of British to launch in Waitrose

Butlers Farmhouse Cheeses has announced it will launch its Perfect British Cheeseboard and Goat Cheeseboard variety packs in Waitrose stores nationwide in November.

The fourth-generation family cheesemaker has also secured its first national listing at the retailer for Button Mill, its delicate, handmade soft cheese (150g, RRP £3.50).

All Butlers Farmhouse Cheeses at Waitrose are available in 100% recyclable packaging. The Lancashire-based dairy is the first British cheese maker to bring sustainable packaging to the sector and continues to lead the way in this space.

The classic, Perfect British Cheeseboard combines Butler’s 18-month aged, tangy Lancashire cheese Sunday Best with beautifully soft Button Mill and award-winning Blacksticks Blue, with its distinctive orange hue and mellow blue tang (RRP £3.50).

The Goat Cheeseboard offers a hard, soft and blue cheese handmade with milk from the family herd of goats. It contains ‘Best British Blue’ winner at the Virtual Cheese Awards 2020 – Beacon Blue, silky smooth, soft Kidderton Ash and This is Proper Goats cheese (155g, RRP £5).

Butlers is passionate about bringing farmhouse cheese to more shoppers and providing them with the very best of British; from Blacksticks Blue to Button Mill, each cheese that leaves the dairy is handmade by experts with the same love and care as it has for over 90 years.

Butlers Farmhouse Cheeses fourth generation owner, Matthew Hall, says: “More consumers are looking for speciality, British cheeses than ever before and so we’re pleased to expand our range in Waitrose and fly the flag for quality, British produce that can reach your plate without travelling around the world to get there.

“Button Mill is a genuine alternative to a French Brie that’s made right here in rural Lancashire and our cheeseboards allow shoppers to continue to support smaller, artisan British producers, while meeting all of their cheese needs – especially as we approach Christmas – with a one-stop purchase of our best, much-loved cheeses.”

Butlers Farmhouse Cheeses is a fourth-generation family business established in 1932 in rural Lancashire. Butlers combine traditional skills, love and innovation to hand make specialist British hard, blue and soft cheeses. Butlers is also available to buy at the Butlers Farmhouse Cheeses online cheese store.

Butlers Farmhouse Cheeses has expanded its direct-to-consumer sales through the Covid-19 pandemic with its online cheese store and letterbox offer. Its core Blacksticks Blue cheese is sold across M&S, Waitrose, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s, Tesco, Co-op, Spar and Booths stores nationwide.
