Big German merger takes shape

More details have emerged following the announcement that two of Germany’s largest dairies, the Westmilch Milchunion, Everswinkel, and the Milchwerke Westfalen, Herford, are to merge (see DII 63(3)/6) All nine processing plants belonging to the companies are to join forces this month, combining as a single operation. The result will be the creation of the co-operative Humana-Milchunion.
