Goldmilch reports improved exports

After the pandemic difficulties in 2020, the export of dairy products recovered in the first half of 2021, according to Milchwerke Ingolstadt-Thalmässing (Goldmilch), at its annual general meeting. From January to August the dairy paid a milk price of €0.3578 per kilogram net, so the average payout price is thus at the level of the previous year.

Prices have stabilised for full milk and cream powder for the chocolate industry. Milk shake and ice cream base materials have been produced predominantly for McDonald’s and currently account for 24% of Goldmilch sales.

“Investments were reset due to the corona crisis, in particular the construction of a cold storage hall in Thalmässing, which was delayed,” managing director Hans Einflüller says.

Further projects are still in planning, such as new raw milk tanks in Ingolstadt, a new elevator and a BigBag emptier.

In order to secure the raw material base, Goldmilch wants to enroll ten new milk producers in 2022 to reach around 6.6 million kilograms of milk collected.
