Woerle wins entrepreneurship prize

Gerhard Woerle has for almost half a century steered the private cheese dairy Woerle in Henndorf near Salzburg in Austria. During this time, he developed the family business from a small village cheese dairy to one of the largest private cheese dairies in Austria.

Therefore he has been honoured in the context of the Salzburg Economic Award with the “Prize for Entrepreneurship.”

Early on, the 78-year-old recognised the great potential of hay milk and had a significant influence in the founding of the Arge Heumilch (hay milk marketing company).

“The mutual appreciation, respectful handling and reliable handshakes… our partners as well as our employees were always important to me,” says Woerle, who still knows each of his dairy farmers personally.

In October 2020, Gerhard Woerle handed over the leadership of the dairy to his son Gerrit.
