Hochwald Foods GmbH in Lüneburg has for the dairy’s education programme been named ‘Top Education’ by the Industry and Commerce Chamber of Lüneburg-Wolfsburg (IHK).
“To Hochwald, training is an investment in the future. Through a high-quality education, we want to convey young people both the technical and social skills. It is important to us to support the apprentices. We achieve this through the offer for cooperation in interesting projects. With various actions we promote cohesion and team spirit. Fun may not be neglected. The award of the IHK shows us that we are on the right track”, says Tanja Bormann, training director of Hochwald Foods GmbH.
Marketing training and recruiting, start of training, organisation, examination as well as training and personnel development are the five categories crucial for IHK seal ‘Top Education.’
At Hochwald Foods, training allowances, holidays and the 38-hour week are regulated in a collective agreement. Each learner receives a training plan with listening to all contents of the training. Each training occupation has a training officer, who also is a contact person. In addition, the trainees get a godparent aside.
Apart from the permanent oral feedback calls, the trainees regularly receive a review, where they may also assess their department. Exam preparation courses are offered and paid.
Internally, the trainees may participate in a social project every year. Externally, Hochwald offers job-orientation measures in many surrounding schools, e.g. internships, lectures or applicant training.
All commercial/technical trainees have the opportunity to visit one of the eight works of Hochwald Foods GmbH for two weeks during the training.
