DMK takes on Herzgut apprentices in Erfurt

With the failed resuscitation of Herzgut dairy in Rudolstadt, Germany, the apprentices of the closed company also started 2022 full of uncertainty. Now a solution has been found, as they can immediately continue their training at the Erfurt site of Germany’s largest dairy group Deutsche Milchkontor (DMK).

“We are pleased to welcome the new colleagues in the DMK Group, where they can continue their training with us,” explained Oliver Bartelt, head of DMK Group communication.

Because with the bankruptcy of Herzgut, a challenging time also broke out for the four trainees of the company. Especially uncertain was whether they could continue to complete their education in the region.

“As a cooperative, ‘unity’ stands for us at the top and therefore it was clear that we in this emergency had to jump in and help,” emphasised Bartelt.

The four Herzgut trainees – a trainee for milk technology and three apprentices to dairy laboratories – switched to the DMK in the beginning of February.

“In the context of our training program Grow, they will definitely be able to find themselves fast in the new work environment. And the colleagues at the Erfurt site are happy to help and advise to make the change for them as easy as possible,” Bartelt concluded.
