US cheese plant to reopen in spring
USA –, Dairy Farmers of America (DFA) has sold its Pollock cheese plant in South Dakota to joint venture partner DairiConcepts.
Production of cheese and dairy-based ingredients at Pollock was halted last summer when the plant was closed for retooling of its processing, packaging and shipping lines. The plant is expected to reopen in the spring.
DFA, a dairy co-operative which markets and processes milk for more than 24,000 dairy farmers across the USA, owns DairiConcepts on an equal basis with the New Zealand Dairy Board.
