The EU suspends all tariffs for Ukraine imports

The European Union had committed to take import tariffs from Ukraine to a zero level back in 2014, but limited then its offer to a provisional implementation of the EU – Ukraine Free Trade Agreement (DCFTA), for which a revision process started in 2021.

Now, the EU Commission is going the extra mile after president Ursula von der Leyen promised at her visit to Kyiv on 8 April an extremely speedy process for the evaluation of Ukraine’s status vis-à-vis the EU, according to the European Dairy Association.

The EDA is in contact with colleagues from the Ukrainian Dairy Association (SMPU). The association recently had a first (virtual) meeting with the SMPU president, Vadym Chagarovsky and his secretary general, Arsen Didur, to define potential avenues for strengthened cooperation between SMPU and EDA.
