Denmark’s Danisco is hoping to strengthen its position in the world flavours market with a new strategy. The company aims to build on the knowledge and expertise of its Danisco Ingredients division and British flavour maker Borthwicks, which it purchased last summer.
The strategy includes the construction of two new flavour laboratories in India and Malaysia. These will be added to Danisco’s existing labs in Brazil, the USA (Kansas and New York), the UK and Denmark.
A new production facility in India is also in the pipeline, and a relocation of the company’s Hong Kong factory to Malaysia is imminent. Malaysia will then become a base for Danisco’s South East Asian operations, which the company plans to develop further.
