UK administrators Kroll has confirmed the sale of the Preston, UK-based cheese maker and cheesemonger, Singleton’s Dairy Limited, to a local family run producer Carron Lodge, which is based in nearby Inglewhite.
The sale was completed on 22 December 2022 and includes the trading premises, as well as tangible assets and branding, including Grandma Singletons cheese.
Based in Longridge and trading as Singletons & Co, the family run business had been handcrafting awarD-winning cheeses in the UK for more than 80 years. In August 2022, the Company went into administration and Kroll’s Andrew Knowles and Steven Muncaster were appointed as joint administrators.
Andrew Knowles, Senior Director, Kroll says, “Singleton’s and many of its brands have a well-established reputation for quality products both locally and abroad. With the completion of this deal, we’re pleased that this long-standing tradition will continue into the future.”
The deal was supported by Taylor Solicitors and Sanderson Weatherall, who provided legal and property advisory.
