DENMARK/SWEDEN &#8211, Arla Foods, Europe’s largest dairy co-operative has reported consolidated sales of DKK 399 million (535 million euro) for the six month period from 17 April to 1 October 2000. The company is said to be satisfied with the result.

MD Foods’ supervisory board is to reward its Danish co-operative owners with 0.23 euro per kg of milk out of an overall ex-farm result of 3.30 euro per kg &#8211, a supplementary payment of 7.8%. This compares with last year’s figure of 3.24 euro with a supplementary payment of 0.17 euro.

The board of Arla proposes its Swedish co-operative owners receive 0.06 as a supplementary payment. The total paid out milk price will be 3.52 euro against 3.45 euro the previous year.

All figures are for milk containing 4.2% fat and 3.4% protein.
