Sales of dairy-based whey products in Germany are set to rise by an incredible 350% during the course of this year.
Market research agency Nielsen reckons total sales of whey drinks will hit r22.5 million in 1999, a huge increase over the r5 million recorded in 1998. Such growth would be the continuation of a trend that began in 1997, when sales of whey products rose by over 100%.
