Saputo Dairy UK awarded a royal warrant from His Majesty The King

Dairy Crest Limited, trading as Saputo Dairy UK, ihas been granted a Royal Warrant from His Majesty The King, having previously held a Royal Warrant from Her late Majesty The Queen for more than 20 years.

Commenting on the grant, Steve Douglas, president & chief operating officer of Saputo Dairy UK, said, “We are incredibly honoured to have been granted a Warrant from His Majesty The King. It is the ultimate seal of approval for the quality, consistency and provenance of our Cathedral City, Davidstow and Country Life brands.

“The Royal Warrant is truly valued by our employees, supplying farmers and customers who recognise the prestige of having the Royal Arms on our products.”

A Royal Warrant is granted to companies who have been supplying products to the Royal Household for a period of at least five years.

Cathedral City is the UK’s number one cheese brand, valued at £345.4m, growing both in value (7.7%) and volume (+7.9%) over the past 12 months. The Royal Warrant is the latest in a series of positive news for the brand, fresh from its most recent innovation, Cathedral City cheddar high protein half fat .

Country Life is an award-winning butter brand, recognised by nearly three quarters (73%) of consumers when prompted. Country Life’s popular block butter format has experienced strong growth in the last year, generating value growth of 22.6% and volume of 8.3%. Overall sales of the full Country Life range have grown by 6.8% in the same period.

Premium Cornish cheddar brand, Davidstow, is valued at £10.7m . Its range of award-winning cheddars are carefully matured for longer, more complex flavours.
