Christian Granlund has taken up the position as senior vice president, Denmark Supply Chain End-to-End at Arla Denmark as of 1 November. His experience includes a number of years in Carlsberg Group and the Norwegian dairy company TINE. He has solid international experience in leading complex supply chains in both Norway, Denmark and globally.
“First and foremost, I am looking forward to getting to know Arla, and I will be travelling a lot in November and December and visiting sites around Denmark. It is important for me to meet the organisation and understand how we can further develop the value chain together,” Granlund says.
His position in Arla is new and has been created as part of the new structure in Arla, which provides the opportunity to think about the supply chain even more end-to-end – from farm to refrigerator – and he will therefore be responsible for both production and distribution in Denmark.
“I believe that with a unified perspective, we can strengthen efficiency, create more value for customers and at the same time develop Arla’s position in the market. I therefore look forward to contributing to the new organisation functioning optimally,” he says.
“With the uncertainty we are seeing in the world, it feels even more meaningful to be part of Arla’s supply chain. Arla plays an important national role in Denmark, because the food supply is crucial almost regardless of the crisis we are experiencing. With our direct delivery model, where we are responsible for both picking and distribution, we are a key player in society – both in peacetime and in crisis situations,” he notes.
