The Nestlé recall of batches of infant formula contaminated by cereulide has expanded to include certain batches of products produced by Lactalis in several countries, while Danone has also seen recalls.
The affected products are tied to a single Chinese supplier of ARA (arachidonic acid) oil, a critical ingredient in premium infant formulas, according to euronews (euronews.com). Lactalis recalled six lots of its Picot infant formula brand, distributed across 18 countries, with affected batches on sale since January 2025 with expiration dates up to March 2027.
Danone for its part is recalling one batch produced in Thailand, at the request of the Singapore Food Agency, it is reported. Countries affected by the Lactalis recall include: Australia, Chile, China, Colombia, Congo, Czech Republic, Ecuador, France, Georgia, Greece, Kuwait, Madagascar, Mexico, Monaco, Spain, Peru, Taiwan and Uzbekistan.
