Independent flavour house, I.T.S has announced a major expansion of its business with plans to build one of the largest natural flavour manufacturing sites in the UK. Newbury-based I.T.S has purchased an 8.2-acre industrial estate west of Newbury close to Hungerford, with links to the M4 motorway. I.T.S will be investing an initial £10 million into the site and its development. It is anticipated that completion will be in around 12-18 months’ time.

The new Hungerford site will include a full redevelopment of the existing factory along with extension and update of the offices. It will give 20 times more production capacity across liquid and powdered flavours than its existing site in Newbury as well as scalable production of extracts and compounds. I.T.S says it is currently growing around 35% year on year.

I.T.S’ existing sites in Newbury, which currently house the company’s production and product development will be unaffected and both sites are currently being extended and will operate as normal.

As a result of the expansion, I.T.S will be looking to increase its workforce, opening up job opportunities in the Swindon, Marlborough, Hungerford and Newbury areas.

Established in 2009 by Mike Bagshaw, I.T.S currently employs 40 people, and supplies natural flavours throughout the food and beverage industries.

He said, “This investment is a major step forward for I.T.S which began at a kitchen table 16 years ago. My mantra has always to be ‘brave’, scale big, have fun and stay independent. Our goal is to become the world’s most-loved flavour house, delivering exceptional flavours and service to our customers. We have a fabulous team, all of whom are essential to how we run the business and our future success. These are exciting times.”
