Tesco Northern Ireland is expanding its range of locally sourced products with the addition of award-winning Drayne’s Farm ice cream, bringing two of the family dairy’s most popular flavours to customers across Northern Ireland.
The launch sees Drayne’s Madagascan Vanilla and Honeycomb Crunch flavours available in family-sized tubs (950ml) across the majority of large Tesco stores throughout Northern Ireland. This reflects Tesco’s ongoing commitment to supporting local food producers and making high-quality local products more accessible to shoppers.
Based on its 200-acre family farm in Lisburn, Drayne’s Farm has been dedicated to dairy farming since 1932. What began with brothers Seamus, Aidan and Dermot Drayne delivering fresh milk by horse and cart has grown into a modern, independent family business that continues to produce, process and distribute dairy products directly from the farm.
Today, every stage of production happens on-site, from caring for the herd to pasteurising the milk and crafting its award-winning ice cream.
Drayne’s Madagascan Vanilla is made using fresh milk and rich cream from the farm’s own herd and premium Royal Bourbon vanilla from Madagascar, while their Honeycomb Crunch combines Drayne’s signature pure milk ice cream with generous pieces of handcrafted honeycomb from Aunt Sandra’s Candy Factory based in Belfast.
Owen Drayne, managing director at Drayne’s Farm, said: “We are incredibly proud to begin supplying Tesco Northern Ireland and to reach even more customers with our award-winning ice cream. As a family farm, quality has always been at the heart of everything we do.
“Every tub starts with fresh milk from our own herd, and we take great pride in crafting ice cream that celebrates the very best local ingredients and dairy expertise. We’re delighted that even more shoppers across Northern Ireland can now enjoy our popular flavours in their local Tesco store.”
Orla Doherty, buying manager at Tesco Northern Ireland, said: “There is something special about ice cream made close to home. Drayne’s Farm combines high-quality local milk with generations of expertise, care and creativity, and their commitment to innovative dairy farming makes them a fantastic addition to our local range.
“Supporting local producers has always been central to our business, and summer is the perfect time to celebrate this brilliant local brand.”
The new Drayne’s Farm Madagascan Vanilla and Honeycomb Crunch 950ml tubs are now available in large Tesco stores across Northern Ireland.
