British queen tours dairy
The Queen has visited Singleton’s Dairy in Preston, UK in recognition of the firm’s overseas contracts, which have twice garnered a Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade.
Set in the heart of Lancashire cheese-making territory, the family-run business exports to more than 20 countries including such unlikely places as Lebanon, Syria and Qatar.
Singleton is run by the fourth generation of the family. It was started on a local farm in 1934 and prides itself on sourcing its milk from within a 15-mile radius.
