Succession planning at Emmi
Fritz Wyss, chairman of the Board of Directors of Swiss dairy giant Emmi, has decided to step down at the 2009 General Meeting.
Wyss has shaped the strategy and success of the Emmi Group during his time with the company. In 1992, he joined the then Lucerne Milk Association and following the founding of Emmi in 1993, he became delegate of the Board of Directors and CEO of the Emmi Group. In 2002, he was elected chairman of the Board of Directors.
Following 17 intense years at Emmi, he now wishes to retire and devote his time to his family and art.
The Board of Directors has nominated Konrad Graber for election by shareholders to the role of chairman. Graber was elected to the Board of Directors of Emmi in 2006 and has been chairman of the Controlling Committee of the Board of Directors since 2007. The next general meeting will take place on 20 May 2009.
