World School Milk Day celebrated

This year’s World School Milk Day occurred on 26 September in more than 30 countries, including Myanmar, the US, Australia and Tanzania. For example, in
Thailand , the John Tung Foundation cooperated with the Council of Agriculture to celebrate World School Milk Day by visiting nine different elementary schools. Students had two class sessions on how great milk is and how to include milk in their daily diet. In addition, a plastic pad was passed out to nearly 4,000 students, reminding them of the importance of milk and two servings of milk a day. In Australia, Dairy Australia ran a series of free kids dairy cooking sessions at this year’s Royal Melbourne Show, Victoria’s largest annual community event. In Myanmar, primary level essay and poster contests were held and cash prizes awarded at the schools.
